Is it possible?

For a while, I was obsessed with the thought of lucid dreaming. The fact that it seemed so impossible, made it very appealing. In case you've never heard of this, check it out here: http://www.wikihow.com/Lucid-Dream

When I first heard about it, it was described as "controlling your dream," you could ask yourself any question, and you would reply with an honest answer. There were different ways it could be done, but all were difficult. The way I learned was that all you had to do was close your eyes without falling asleep. Then after a long time, an hour or so, you will get some sort of itch, but you had to ignore it. Shortly after, open your eyes and you will see dark shadows and white light. Again that itch will come, but you have to dismiss it. Somehow, once you've successfully done that, you were lucid dreaming and you would be in your dream.

Of course, that's not true. Although, once a friend claimed that she had almost done it. She had seen the white light and the 2nd itch had come, unfortunately she "woke up." Personally, I bet the entire thing was in her head.
